Commencing at 7pm tonight, there was a banquet at the Royal Oak Inn in Brandon commemorating 50 years of National Retriever competitions in Canada. This wonderful event featuring sandwiches and cold cuts was painstakingly organized by Pat Fitzpatrick and Earla Lardner.
There were 50 photographs of past National Champions lining the walls as well as a complete set of programs and pins for the people to gaze at and ponder over. As well as that, there were several newspaper articles and magazines to read. The hotel people were serving 2 types of wine and there were several tables to sit and watch the various films and videos of past Retriever stakes.
It gave people a chance to reflect and discuss the past and future of our game.
Congratulations to Pat and Earla for a job well done..
Thanks guys
