Water Triple Test 4
This test consisted of 3 guns, the left one being retired. The firing order was left, right center with a combination of water entries and grassy land. The first bird was thrown left to right @ 160 yards. The second on the right being thrown in from right to left across water to an island @ 93 yards. The center bird was thrown from left to right across water and splashed in the weeds away from the island @ 153 yards.
Some of the dogs beached early on the center bird and hunted near the guns before dumping into the water to the bird. The right hand bird presented dogs with the opportunity to hunt at the guns again without the wind giving them the bird. Some handlers primary selected the right bird out with the wind being what it was. Virtually all dogs who took the center go bird first had no problem winding the right bird. The left bird saw quite a few dogs beaching early to the left and hunting behind the blind to the left with varying degrees of severity.
The test could not be completed by dark leaving about 14 dogs to run in the morning
