The caravan left headquarters at 0700 and proceeded to The Tee Pee Hunt Club located in the village of Turkey Point. An early-morning fog delayed the start of the 3 rd test, but by 0845 the fog had dissipated and the trial was underway.
The judges had a 160-yard water blind set up. The dogs had to run 80 yards tight to cattails on the left, down a short steep-angled bank then swim yards through a tangle of lily pads to the blind. An empty canoe, with a drake hanging over the side 70 yards out attracted little attention, as did a nearby scented point.

Test 3 - Land / Water Blind

The handlers were allowed to move up to handle after the dog had passed a marker 30 yards out, and could not move up unless the dog was in motion. Female test dog Coelletta Bay Magnolia, run by owner-handler Gar Clark did a nice job,and the judges decided to insert a dry shot which proved ineffective for male test dog She Kon Kawera Honti, owner-handler Jim Green. and was dropped.
Dog # 57 FTCH AFTCH Jaybar’s Picture Perfect, owned by Jerry and Barb, handled by Jerry Younglove started the second day of competition with each dog taking approximately five minutes to complete the test, on what again promised to be a sunny, hot day.
