Field Trial Marshall Gerry Pozzebon, with a set-up crew of Dick Roelofson, Larry and Jenny DeLeemans, Al Haggerty, Ron Craig, Don and Honey Wilson and John Unruh, returned to The Tee Pee Hunt club property and had everything prepared when the judges arrived.
The judges upped the ante today and began to tighten the noose. It was a case of no more Mister Nice Guy.

Test 4 - Water Triple

The fourth test was a water triple with a retired gun. The memory bird, on the left, at 140 yards, was a drake thrown left from the shoreline, landing on a point. The gunners for the second bird were on the right standing by a tree line throwing a drake left along the tree line into weeds and then they retired. A wipe-out bird at 30 yards was a hen thrown left into open water
To retrieve the memory bird, the dogs had to swim under the arc of the go bird, past two points, and across the line of yesterday’s blind. For the right bird the dogs had an angled entry into water, a short swim to a point, cross the point, back into the water for another short swim to shore, then run across cut grass to the tree line.
With another sunny, warm day ahead, test dogs Colletta Bay Magnolia and She Kon Kawera Hontsi ran. The first test dog over-ran the retired gun and picked up the memory bird, then had to be handled on the retired gun. The male test dog did a nice job taking the memory bird second, but returned to the memory bird when sent for the retired gun. The fourth series commenced at 0800 with dog # 76 FTCH AFTCH Sam Tweed owned by Ron Modesto and handled by Charles Dygos.
The retired gun proved to be the most difficult and many competitors were forced to handle. The memory bird also provided some difficulties with some dogs landing early and hooking the gunners.
The test finished at 1900 and the following dogs were dropped. Dog # 5, 6, 7, 16, 19, 20, 21, 26, 27, 33, 37, 39, 40, 45, 49, 50, 53, 54, 64, 66, 67, 70 and 74.
