Contest Rules

1. All entries must be submitted by electronic mail from a confirmable email address

2. All entries must be complete to be eligible for the contest (incomplete entries will be discarded)

3. All entries must be received by 9:00 AM EDT, Sunday, June 15, 1997, at which time entries for the contest will close

4. All persons entering contest must be 18 years of age or older

5. Only one entry per person will be accepted (identity is subject to confirmation by Contest Administrator, without  which prizes      are subject to being withheld - personal references will be required upon request)

6. Employees and relatives of employees of Gun Dog Supply, Working Retriever Central!, and STAR*South are ineligible for     entry in the contest

7. All entrants agree that their names and contest picks may be published on this web site if the decision is made to do so (no     email addresses, postal addresses, or phone numbers will be published)

8. This contest is not valid where prohibited by law

9.  By entering the contest all entrants agree that Gun Dog Supply, Working Retriever Central!, and STAR*South, and their       owners, officers, directors,and employees, will be held free of any liability whatsoever

10.Working Retriever Central! and Gun Dog Supply are not responsible for any inaccuracies in the publishing of the starting       dogs or running order for this contest

11.Decisions of the Contest Administrator are final

 
Contest Instructions

To enter the contest complete the entry form below. Each entrant will pick their choice as the Winner of the 1997 National Amateur Retriever Championship (the 1997 National Amateur Field Champion) from the "drop-down" list of starting dogs in the 1997 National Amateur Championship Stake.

Each entrant will also pick their next five choices for the 1997 National Amateur Field Champion, in order, from the "drop-down" lists provided for choices two through six.

All entrants who correctly pick, on their first choice, the 1997 National Amateur Field Champion will be "Contest Finalists". If no entrant's first choice is the 1997 National Amateur Field Champion, then the second choice will be used to decide "Contest Finalists", and if no entrant's second choice is correct, then the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth choices will be used until a group of "Contest Finalists" is determined.

Once a group of of "Contest Finalists" is determined, a tie-breaker will be used as follows:

Each "Contest Finalist's" next choice after their winner's choice will be used to determine their continued "Contest Finalist" status. All "Contest Finalists" who next choice in order is a 1997 National Amateur Retriever Championship "Finalist" will continue as a "Contest Finalist". If a "Contest Finalist's" next choice is not a 1997 National Amateur Retriever Championship "Finalist", he or she will be dropped from the "Contest Finalist" group. This process will continue until a "Contest Winner" is determined.

The above process, after determining the "Contest Winner", will also be used to determine the winners of up to five consolation prizes.

Should all six choices of "Contest Finalists" be exhausted before a "Contest Winner" is determined, at that point the "Contest Winner" will be decided by a random draw of the names of the remaining "Contest Finalsits", and up to five other names will be randomly drawn for the winners of the consolation prizes. And if, after the "Contest Winner" is determined. there remains more than five other "Contest Finalists", five names will be drawn as consolation prize winners.

Summary: Entrants must correctly choose the 1997 National Amateur Field Champion to be a "Contest Finalist", The "Contest" Finalists' successive choices which are 1997 National Amateur Retriever Championship "Finalists." will survive the tie-breaker process in which the "Contest Winner" and "Contest Runnersp-Up" are determined.
