The 1999 Canadian National Retriever Championship opened with a wonderful Banquet on Saturaday Sept. 11. The Atlantic Salmon and Roast Beef Buffet was great  The evening started with a very serious cocktail hour which allowed everyone plenty of time to socialize and check out the Silent Auction Items and enjoy the Goose Calling display from Harry Yeo. When MC Mac Dunfield called everyone to their seats, the Head Table was then Piped in and introduced. Judge Bill Kennedy and his wife,Judge Buck Mckenzie and his wife, Judge Ron Bischke, Ray Cochran Field Trial Marshall, Marg Murray NRCC Secretary,Allen Fraser NRCC President and his wife Gail, Marc Roy Field Trial Chairman, Deb Roy Social Chairperson, and Deb Yeomans Field Trial Secretary. Speeches were made all around and ended with the Marshalls instructions to the Handlers.After the meal presentations were made to the officals of the NRCC and Field Trial Committee and the Judges and Marshall were presented with their gifts. At this point the Judges and Marshall were booted out so as to allow for a very spirited Calcutta. The evening was enjoyed by all.
