Patty was born and raised in the Milwaukee area, Wisconsin, 72 years ago. She and her late husband Ted lived at their Rockbend Kennels in Fredonia, Wisconsin until moving to Sharon, Mississippi in 1975.
As a young woman, she played tennis competitively, winning the1945 Junior Girl's Singles and Doubles. However, Patty is best remembered by us through her involvement in Retriever Trials. For over 40 years, she and Ted ran stylish champions, winning titles and friends throughout the country. The titled dogs included their great yellow FC-AFC Brandy Spirit of Netley.
Patty's leadership qualities were demonstrated as President of the National Amateur Retriever Club, Wisconsin Amateur Field Trial Club (life member) and President and Editor-In-Chief of the Retriever Field Trial News (twice). She was an active member of the Memphis Amateur Retriever Club. Patty also earned a place in the prestigious Double Headers Club.
In 1998, she was inducted into the Retriever Hall of Fame as a result of her accomplishments. Her legacy will be remembered long after her passing. Our sincere sympathy to family and friends.
