The winner of the 1998 Canadian National Amateur Retriever Championship Stake, held July 13th to July 19th, in Kapuskasing, Ontario, was NAFC-FC Ebonstar Lean Mac, owned and handled by Sherwin Scott.

"Maxx" has won his second National Championship Stake, adding the 1998 Canadian National Amateur Championship to his 1995 U. S. National Amateur Championship.
