(FC-AFC Snake Eyes-Double or Nothin’ x AFC Westwind’s Super Bunny Babe)
Owners: Marge and Bob Beck, Junction City, OR
FC-AFC-’89 CNAFC-CFC Aces High III (Willie) was purchased by Bob Beck as an Easter gift for his wife, Marge. Bob had seen Pete Warlick’s litter ad in Retriever Field Trial News called to get a pup, only to be told that they had all be spoken for. Pete called back a bit later to tell Bob that there had been a cancellation and to ask whether he was still interested – he was – and Willie arrived in time for Easter, 1986.
Willie went to Jerry Patopea at six months and went through Jerry’s young dog starter program, as well as more advanced training to prepare him for Open work. Jerry ran Willie, beginning at ten months, until his first placement (a 3rd) at fifteen months. Bob handled him for the remainder of his Derby career – a career that concluded with 75 Derby Points and 1987 High Point Derby Dog.
Willie turned an outstanding year of campaigning in 1989 – five Open wins, two Amateur wins (one U.S./one Canadian) and the Canadian National Amateur Championship! It was reflective of his entire career, consistent, competitive and always there in the end!
Willie accumulated 349 ½ All-Age points during his competitive career – 188 Open and 161 ½ Amateur.
