“As a pup, he was a good marker and an outstanding water dog. He accumulated 30 Derby points and was 9 th on the Derby List. I kept him out of trials to teach him to handle the entire spring following his derby year. I realized that he was a very special dog and we had a very special relationship – he wanted to do it right from the beginning.’
“Shadow has qualified for five National Amateurs and has been a finalist in three of these. He has qualified for three National Opens, has run in two, finishing one and winning one.’
“I have trained this dog entirely myself. My methods involve hard work and a lot of repetition. Together he and I have paid the price for out success.”
Shadow accumulated 132 ½ All-Age points during his competitive career – 56 Open and 76 ½ Amateur.
