Holway Barty
February 22,1971 - February 2, 1982
Barbara Howard (Tartan Kennel) purchased Barty
from breeder Mrs. June Atkinson (Holway Kennel) of England
in June of 1971. In August of that same year, he won
a licensed derby stake. He went on to finish his AFC
in September of 1979. Barty is best known for his progeny.
He is the top producing field trial sire in the history
of the breed. He was a Golden Retriever Club of America
Outstanding Sire and most recently was inducted into
the National Bird Dog Museum Field Trial Hall of Fame.

Barty threw many pointed field trial dogs,
as well as many obedience trial winners, and many dogs
who simply served mankind.
