Amateur Field Champion
Holway Barty

AFC Holway Barty

February 22,1971 - February 2, 1982
Barbara Howard (Tartan Kennel) purchased Barty from breeder Mrs. June Atkinson (Holway Kennel) of England in June of 1971. In August of that same year, he won a licensed derby stake. He went on to finish his AFC in September of 1979. Barty is best known for his progeny. He is the top producing field trial sire in the history of the breed. He was a Golden Retriever Club of America Outstanding Sire and most recently was inducted into the National Bird Dog Museum Field Trial Hall of Fame.
Barty is the sire of:
  • FC-AFC Cherryhill Rowdy Rascal
  • AFC Kiowa's Holiday Joy
  • AFC Sportin Kelty
  • 1985 NAFC-FC Topbrass Cotton
  • AFC Topbrass Gatsby
  • AFC Topbrass Gifford of Valhaven
  • FC-AFC Topbrass Mandy
  • FC Windbreakers Razzmatazz
Barty threw many pointed field trial dogs, as well as many obedience trial winners, and many dogs who simply served mankind.
