Field Champion
Michelle

DOB: January 29, 1963
AFC Black Mike Of Laakewood x Kemper's Sassy Sue
Michelle was from a litter bred by W.G. and Alma G. Kemper. Kemper's mated their well bred bitch, daughter of NFC-AFC Massie's Sassy Boots, to a titled dog from Washington area. Ed Minnoggie was deciding to buy another dog when the 6 month-old Michelle caught his eye. The puppy was raised and trained by Ed Minnoggie who says her breeding wasn't as important as her style. Ed reports she was always a classy dog, eager to please and easy to train.
Ed ran her in her first derby before she was a year old and she placed in the first two derbies. She was number 3 dog on the 1964 Derby list, the number 2 dog also sired by the same male. Ed sold her to San Francisco banker, Cyril R. Tobin. Michelle qualified for seven consecutive National Opens, 1965-71, and was a finalist in 1965. She was not qualified for any National Amateur stakes. Although purchased by C.R. Tobin, Michelle spent her time with Ed Minoggie. Michelle finished her field trial career with 152.5 points. Although her owner was an amateur Mr. Tobin chose not to run her. Therefore, no Amateur points.
Michelle seems to have had only one litter. With FC Techako's Ranger, also owned by C.R. Tobin and raised by Minoggie, with resulted in one titled offspring. Her titled son was FC-AFC Leroy III.
