Jill was bred by Laurel Allen of Royal Oaks Kennel. Alanson Brown III purchased Jill from Tom Brannan after he had campaigned her in the derby, 39 points, and made her a Bench Champion. She was the first Champion black Labrador female in a 58 year period.
Jill was a double-header winner. She qualified and ran 6 consective National Opens 1973-1978 finishing the 1973 National. Jill also qualified for 7 National Amateurs 1972-79 only missing 1974 and was a finalist twice, 1976 and 1977. During her field trial in the all-age stakes Jill earned 64 Open points and 68.5 Amateur points. Jill averaged 17 all-age points per year averaging .65 points per start.
Jill wasn't bred and she is one of three Labrador females owned by Lanse Brown to be inducted into the Retriever Hall Of Fame.
